 
Rodney 'Bounty Killer' Price, credited as the artiste responsible for the exposure of many of the entertainers modern dancehall lovers now embrace, has struck again, this time adding upcoming dancehall artiste Calado to his list of young talents. The dancehall 'general', who exposed now-established talents such as Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, among others, told THE STAR Calado reminds him of himself as a young artiste. "He is like me in my younger days, doing songs like Poor People Fed Up and such," he said. The iconic dancehall artiste said he was impressed with Calado's work because his songs are positive.

"Young artistes these days would normally take the negative route to get attention but Calado has done the opposite. Songs like Sad Streets, Carry On and Provide Mi Own are songs that am impressed with in terms of positive content," he said. The manager for the Alliance Next Generation (ANG), Cross Cris, also confirmed Calado's acceptance as part of the group. "He was never far from the camp but we were just never formally introduced until this point," he said. According Cross Cris, Bounty Killer has a knack for real talent, and he (Cross Cris) is particularly impressed with the way Calado represents himself during recordings.

"He definitely has talent and different voice range, and being in Alliance he will grow and benefit for the experience and knowledge. Who better to give proper guidance than Bounty Killer, plus the platform that Alliance gives to you is priceless," he said. Calado, who spoke to THE STAR from the recording studio, said he was humbled to have been given the opportunity to work with Alliance. The artiste said Bounty has been his mentor since his formative years. "It's good because mi a listen to Bounty Killer from high school days, am gonna work even harder now so you can expect more lyrics, melody and flow," he said. Calado, who was around fellow Alliance artiste Busy Signal for a while, told THE STAR that he learnt from Busy Signal by observing his approach to the music industry. "I just look and learn because nuh man nuh really have time fi sit down and teach yu stuff, so you have to look and learn he said. Calado recently released a music video for his single, Sad Streets,which was number one on E-Strip and Hype TV video count shows. The artiste is gearing up for his much-anticipated Bounty Killer collaboration and the release of his new single, Hard Loving, produced by Icon of IMG production.
